Let’s celebrate your love

I officiate thoughtful, personalized wedding ceremonies for couples in the Greater Seattle area. Each ceremony is as unique as the couple it honors. In putting together your ceremony, I’ll mix-and-match readings, rituals, and vows to reflect what’s important to you. From elopements to intimate gatherings to grand affairs, I’ll craft, organize, and lead a ceremony that you—and your guests—will always remember.

About ME

I’m a Seattle-based wedding officiant and celebrant. Officiating weddings combines some of my favorite things: getting to know new people, reading lots of poetry, talking about love and partnership, organizing Google Docs, designing an audience experience, and, of course, going to weddings. I bring over a decade of experience in event planning, theatre, writing, experience design, and officiating custom weddings for happy couples.

FAQ

What’s included?

My fee includes an initial meeting, a ceremony draft (with three rounds of feedback/revisions), reader coordination, managing and directing the ceremony rehearsal, officiating the ceremony, and signing marriage documents both official and ceremonial. I may charge an additional travel fee depending on your wedding location (i.e. to cover ferry transportation)

Do we invite you to the party?

No, I’m a vendor, not a guest. A vendor meal is a courtesy that’s appreciated, but not required.

What types of weddings do you officiate?

From small wilderness elopements to lavish celebrations, I officiate weddings of all styles across Seattle and beyond. Whether you want to keep it traditional, super short, funny, moving or all the above, I'm here to make your ceremony unforgettable.

Can you accommodate our cultural or spiritual preferences?

Probably! I am personally agnostic and culturally Jewish, but I am very supportive of incorporating your traditions and beliefs into the ceremony.

Do you provide custom-written ceremonies?

Yes, each ceremony I officiate is tailor-made for you. I believe your love story deserves to be told in a way that's meaningful and personal. Let's collaborate to make it perfect.

I start with an outline that maps to a traditional wedding ceremony and I suggest some of the most popular readings to multiple couples, so there may be some overlap with other weddings I’ve officiated, but on the whole, it’ll be wholly yours.

What's your approach to creating and officiating a wedding ceremony?

It starts with a chat over coffee or Zoom where I get to know you and your story a little bit. We’ll discuss your vision for the day and what’s meaningful about getting married to you. You can provide as much or a little input at the start as you want. After we meet, I'll then send you a draft to review. I offer up to three rounds of revision to get the ceremony script perfect.

What if we want other people to read in the ceremony?

If you have friends or family members reading in the ceremony, I’ll reach out to them with the passage they are responsible for and some tips for practicing—even experienced public speakers need a little support on an exciting and emotional day.

Will we write our own vows?

That’s totally up to you! Some couples like to write their own vows and read them to each other during the ceremony. Some prefer to exchange vows privately beforehand. Some people don’t do vows at all. We’ll discuss your preferences and figure out what works for you.
